COVID 19 UPDATE

Covid update SMALL.png

Six months into this pandemic and 9 months down on the longest year of my life. Does everyone else feel the same way? I cycle through all of the emotions on how I feel about this whole dumpster fire of a situation but I really struggle on how to best communicate that to you guys. So for the most part I have stayed quiet. But now, here in Iowa, the virus numbers are really starting to ramp up just as businesses are getting ready to ramp up for the holiday season so I feel like now is the time to post something.

I am choosing to follow state recommended guidelines. I will provide a link to them below if you would like to read them. It’s basically all the extra cleaning/mask wearing/social distancing guidelines that every one has heard time and time again. They are not technically “LAW” but I am doing this because I genuinely care about the health and well being of my clients and the other clients entering my building that belong to the other suite owners. Some examples are: I don’t double book, I wear a mask, clients wear masks, I have added extra space between clients to sanitize surfaces, clients are asked not to bring in guests unless they are also receiving services, and have I removed services that require a lot of “face time”. I am also practicing social distancing/mask wearing when not at work so I can best minimize the risks to everyone that I may come into contact with.

I will provide you with a mask if you do not have one. If you choose to not wear one, I will be more than happy to reschedule your appointment for a better time.

If the Iowa Department of Public Health requests that we shut down again, my shop will be closed for that duration. Embee Hair will open again only when the state says I can.

I ask that everyone please respect these guidelines for the foreseeable future while in my suite. I am a big advocate for finding the right stylist for your personal needs, and if my shop isn’t it then there are truly no hard feelings. One thing we can all agree that this situation sucks.

Finally, I just wanted to give all my clients a big thanks for continuing to support my small business. Seeing all your faces and hearing all the quarantine, summer, derecho, kiddo and pet stories has brought so much joy to my life. I really do have the best clients.
